Meet the Teachers

  • Acacia was drawn to yoga several years ago after trying to find a new way to manage back pain, and anxiety. She instantly fell in love and was immediately draw to teaching. She received her 200hr certification with Arizona Yoga Co and has enjoyed teaching teaching a wide variety of people since.

When not teaching she enjoys spending time with her husband, their 5 kids, and 2 cats. She also loves to hang out with friends, crafts, watch reality tv, video games, and travel.

  • Andrew has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, exploring a variety of styles before doing his 200 hour teacher training in 2019 with Arizona Yoga Co. He also has over a decade of experience practicing and teaching martials arts. He views physical practice and reflection as an essential part of living a full and healthy life and growing into the kinds of individuals we want and need to be. He also sees yoga as a collective project, something we can do with others to deepen our human connections and break down our judgements. When not practicing yoga, Andrew is a speculative fiction writer and sustainability researcher.

  • Bobby started yoga in 2015 to help recover from a broken foot. He completed his 200 hour teacher training in 2015 with Yoga to the People, and his 300 hour training in 2018 with Jenn Chiarelli. For the last three years, he has practiced primarily Mysore-style ashtanga with John Salisbury. In 2019, he completed a 40 hour program on teaching the ashtanga primary series with David Swenson.

  • Bri began practicing yoga about 20 years ago with her grandma in Illinois. After moving to Arizona in 2015, she found this studio and realized that doing yoga brings her home within herself. It wasn't long after that she realized she can guide others to this feeling as well and obtained her 200 hr RYT. She is currently pursing her 500-RYT certification with a passion for various styles of yoga including Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, intuitive energy work and sound healing. She continues to discover herself deeper through connecting her mind, body and spirit with her practice. She believes in the importance of sharing your story and aims to encourage others express theirs through yoga as well.

  • Brianna's personal practice has expanded greatly over the last few years. When they first discovered yoga over on the east coast, they knew it was an amazing alchemical process that could truly alter people's mindsets and awareness (if they allow it). It was love at first flow! Brianna grew up a dancer and gymnast and knew that all of her work in those areas guided her to this opportunity to bring mindfulness into the picture.

They recently moved to Arizona after earning their 200hr YTT while living in Brooklyn, NY - a space that was both inspiring and intimidating. Brianna believes that yoga helps us create intention beyond our mats/physical bodies - seeping and interweaving the greatness we do physically and with our breath into every other crevice of our lives. Intentional movement and breathwork is truly medicinal, spiritual, and enlightening. It brings us closer to ourselves and our purposes in life, and helps us achieve clarity in numerous ways. We might laugh on our mats or cry or have a very serious experience. The beauty is, it's always different and always very profound. Brianna encourages you to bring your vulnerability to your mat alongside an open heart and mind. Embrace where you are in each moment! Yoga is unity - is love - is practice - is patience - is fulfillment.

  • Car received their 200hr vinyasa certification in 2017. They have since gone on to receive additional certifications in kids yoga, yin yoga and yoga Nidra. The foundation of their teaching is accessibility. They keep this in mind with the sequences they teach and the language they use around their teaching. Car is committed to continually learning how they can provide an even safer space for practicing yoga. They believe everyone should be able to bring their full self to their practice without fear of judgement. In Car's class you might be challenged, but you will also be encouraged to play, explore and ask questions. They believe that the work we do on our mat directly translates to the work we are doing off our mat.

In their free time, Car’s favorite place to be is either in nature or at home with their partner, two cats and two dogs.

  • Gabby began practicing vinyasa yoga in 2014 in an attempt to find a self-care ritual when starting college. She loved the feeling of peace and strength that yoga brought to her life but struggled to maintain a consistent practice. After several years of off and on practice she attended a class in 2019 with our community and rediscovered the balance and stability that yoga can provide.

Gabby decided to get her 200-hour teacher certification to learn more about yoga and find ways to create a regular, sustainable, and fun practice. She believes that everyone should have access to activities that promote self-care and community care. Gabby hopes that she can support you in building a community-based practice that challenges you to show up for yourself and let others show up for you when that may be difficult.

  • Jenn found a yoga + meditation practice as a life raft during a period of grief in her early 20’s. As her practice and life naturally changed, her yoga practice has transformed into a space to get to know herself more deeply with curiosity and compassion. She strives to hold this space for her students in class.

After completing her 200 hour training in 2018 with Red Lila School of Yoga in Baltimore, Maryland, she took over ownership of Eastern Shore Yoga in Easton, Maryland in early 2019 and worked with clients + businesses in the surrounding community for three years before closing up and moving to Arizona for a change of scenery + pace. She has completed her first 300 hour training with Arrow Yoga + Wicked Om Yoga in 2021 and is currently exploring modules in Awakening Yoga Academy’s 300 hour training as well as Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy’s Yoga Therapist program.

  • Throughout my upbringing, I played many different sports, but my athletic passions grew exponentially with pole vaulting. This is where I first learned the vitality of breath and how it can guide my movement, realizing it was powerful enough to send me into the sky. In discovering my love for poetry, I found the grounding sensations that arise from examining my own heart truly and deeply. For me, yoga is a natural combination of these: breath, movement, presence, and feeling.

As a natural extrovert, I love being around people and have always gravitated toward teaching, imparting what I can and learning from the act itself. When taking one of my classes, you will be asked to immerse yourself in the present moment, to breathe deeply, to invite in challenges, to laugh, to fly, and above all, to listen, really listen, to your own body and mind. My goal through teaching yoga is to inspire a confidence for my students to explore themselves freely and without judgement in order to fall deeper in love with their own hearts and the world around us.

  • Julz has been a student of yoga for over a decade, finding that Yoga has helped her manage chronic pain and anxiety in miraculous ways.

After years of learning and practicing, teaching yoga became an organic progression in deepening her understanding of yoga while sharing her passion with the community she loves.

Prior to teaching yoga, Julz has been a hair color educator for a number of years. Having taken extensive training courses in facilitation and public speaking, these skills have helped her develop her yoga teaching too.

Her teaching style is playful and nurturing, encouraging her students in any classroom or studio to have fun and try new things.

A self proclaimed “forever student” she is currently studying toward a major Public Service & Public Policy and a minor in Spanish.

She works as a hairdresser and director at a local salon. In her free time she loves to cook (she has a cooking channel on Instagram!) sing/play music and travel.

  • Karson has been practicing yoga since 2016, and it has slowly transformed her life. In 2022, she knew she needed to make a change in her life, so she decided to do her 200hr YTT to deepen her personal practice. It completely transformed her life in ways she couldn't have imagined, and she immediately fell in love with teaching. So, she continued her training and did her 300hr YTT, specializing in restorative yoga, kids yoga, and yoga nidra.

She loves connecting with people and holding space for their personal transformation. She truly believes yoga is for everybody, no matter their shape, size, experience, or how flexible they are! In Karson's class you'll also experience breathwork, mindful movement, and fun, upbeat music that will inspire you to tune into your body.

Karson also loves to read, dance, and travel.

  • Having tried all kinds of wellness programs and ways to stay active, mind and body, none of them were actually sustainable for me.

Ten years ago, while at a thrift store, I came across an old VHS tape of Yoga, then I had to hunt down a VCR, and the rest is history!

After many nights of my VHS tape, and reading online, I felt confident enough to go to an actual class in a studio. I was expecting it to be more intimidating than it actually was. I found the yoga community to be where I belong. My favorite part about the practice is that it is not a competition. Everyone is on their own journey. I found myself recommending yoga to everyone all the time, because of how it has significantly impacted my life for the best. I needed to learn more.

In 2022, I received my YTT200 hour certificate from The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe Arizona.

In my free time, I'm all about my Grandson, Enzo, and riding my motorcycle around the valley.

  • Hi yogis, My name is Kaylee Glenn; I’m a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. I’m from Arizona and fell in love with Yoga my senior year of high school in 2013. I have been apart of this yoga community for 5 years now and I couldn’t be happier. I believe yoga should be accessible for everyone and this self love practice can transform individual lives and improve community support systems and uplight spirts.

I resonate with yin and yang, we are all apart of the problem and the solution. A small action of practicing yoga repeatedly can have a positive chain reaction in your own life, community and the universe.

Yoga means to me being able to connect with your body, mind and spirt in a significantly deep manner, being able to appreciate the small things in life, and by spending time on your mat, those lessons we take from class can help us over come obstacles off your mat and in real world situations so that we can make the world a better place.

I’m passionate about yoga, hiking, photography, camping and any sort of adventure that’s calling my name.

  • Lexi found yoga in an attempt to find a (fun) way to get moving but stayed once she realized it had the power to reshape her inner landscape in a positive way. She’s a 200Hr RYT with a passion for all things healing. From plant food as medicine to sound healing. When Lexi isn’t teaching yoga, she’s creating, exploring, and cuddling dogs.

  • I attended my first yoga class in 2013 and I fell, nearly instantly, in love with the practice. Soon, I was practicing 5 to 6 times a week. I loved the movement of the asanas, the feeling of being present and accountable to myself and the stress relief that comes after devoting time to my practice and myself.

In 2017, I decided I wanted to learn more about the history, practice and philosophy of yoga and pursued my 200-hour certification with Yoga to the People. After graduation, I decided to further my yoga education by pursuing my 500-hour certification and signed up for a 300-hour with Jenn Chiarelli from Anahata Sol. I graduated in May of 2018 and began teaching more regularly.

Over time, I’ve grown my practice, myself, and my love of yoga and it’s something that I love to share with others through my teaching. I specialize in power vinyasa flow, and I love challenging my students to find their own personal limit and the joy in having a consistent yoga practice.

  • Savannah has been practicing yoga since she was a teenager, but it wasn't until she moved to New York City in the Fall of 2018 that she really connected with her practice. Savannah first began practicing yoga at Modo Hot Yoga in NYC and Yoga to the People. She moved to Arizona in January of 2021 to complete her undergraduate degree at Arizona State University, where she found donation based yoga with Arizona Yoga Co. In March of 2023, Savannah earned her 200 hour YTT at Earth Yoga Village in Goa, India, and has been sharing her practice and teaching ever since.

Savannah believes in the amazing healing powers that yoga has on the body and mind, and aims to make this a focus of her practice and classes. As a teacher, Savannah focuses on helping students connect to themselves through movement and breath. In her free time, Savannah enjoys taking her dog on walks, hiking, learning, and pottery.

  • I’m a recently graduated yoga teacher as well as a lifetime student. I’m originally from Missouri, but I moved to Arizona in 2017 for a career in sustainable agriculture. The first time I attended a yoga class was in 2012 during my high school PE class. I continued practicing mostly on and off, but in 2021 my dedication to yoga grew. In winter 2022, I completed my 200-hour yoga certification with Urban Yoga Phoenix. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable space for any individual to practice yoga, and I hope to teach yoga to all levels and abilities. I emphasize breathwork and meditation to encourage relaxation and stress reduction.

    Fun facts about me..

    Favorite color: lime green

In my free time, I enjoy cycling, reading, or watching a good tv show.

  • Serena started practicing yoga in 2002 when her friend dragged her along to a vinyasa flow class. She discovered that yoga allowed her to build strength, confidence, and flexibility both in body and mind and has been hooked on yoga since that first class. Serena infuses her classes with joy and humor and aims to make her classes accessible for all abilities.

Serena is a 500-hour RYT and teaches vinyasa, slow flow, and restorative yoga. She completed her 300-hour training with Jenn Chiarelli at Anahata Soul in 2018, and she did her 200-hour training at the Madison Improvement Club in 2014. Outside the yoga studio, she consults for nonprofit organizations and she enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with friends & family.

  • My yoga practice started in 2016 when I finally built up the courage to take a class and was surprised to discover a yoga studio that was donation based. Without expecting it yoga immediately became a consistent part of my life. Whether I am feeling good or feeling low, if I can get to my yoga mat and be with my body and embrace my emotions for just one hour of practice I always, without a doubt, feel better than I had felt before.

Yoga in my opinion is not about your looks, size, age, or flexibility it is about uncovering your strength and building a tender and meaningful relationship with yourself. My hope as a teacher is that I can be there to guide you through postures, remind you to breathe, and support you holding space for yourself. Showing up to your mat is the hardest part; if you do that everything else will fall into place.

    Hope to practice together soon!

  • Tim is a native of New Jersey but moved to Arizona in 2008 to start graduate school at Arizona State. Since graduating with an M.S. in chemistry, he has been a general chemistry instructor at ASU since 2012. Throughout his academic career, he also practiced yoga regularly after taking it as an elective class during his final semester of college.

In the Fall of 2018 he completed his 200-hour yoga teaching certification at Arizona Yoga Co. (formally Yoga to the People) and has been teaching both chemistry and yoga since then. He likes to add humor while teaching both subjects to remind students not to take anything too seriously and to have fun while learning. Outside of teaching, he also enjoys bike-riding, swimming, hiking, and watching science and nature documentaries.
